Dr. Hamid Alhaj is a highly accomplished Consultant Psychiatrist with extensive experience across the United Kingdom's National Health Service (NHS) and private healthcare sector. He currently serves as Consultant Psychiatrist at University Hospital Sharjah and as Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Sharjah, combining clinical excellence with academic leadership and research innovation. Dr. Hamid received his PhD in Psychiatry from Newcastle University, UK, and completed his Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) through the Royal College of Psychiatrists. He has held senior leadership positions including Director of Medical Education at SHSC NHS Foundation Trust, Foundation Training Program Director at Health Education England, and Editor of the Journal of Psychiatric Intensive Care. A multiple award recipient, Dr. Hamid has been recognised with the Margaret Slack Fellowship (RCPsych), NIHR Academic Clinical Lectureship, BAP/Eli Lilly Fellowship, and the Professor Erwin Stengel Memorial Prize for Academic Excellence. He is an active researcher, published author, and invited speaker at national and international psychiatric conferences.
